Fallacy of the Flesh
In a loss of awareness of my flesh
Entrenched in the realm of my Spiritual self
Look at faces and see the blank stares of despair
Spirits dying to be set free before carnal death
Holy Spirit directs me to dig deeper than before
Shallow waters sink quickly and fade with the shore
The Spirit is always hungry for more
Sin and deliverance are now at war
My heart remains heavy for those who lack understanding
Rather stay quiet, but God is commanding
That I speak from the Spirit (Spirit’s demanding)
Step forward two fold, for on faith I am standing
Unconscious by day, yet awake while I’m dreaming
Pray to The Father to keep me from screaming
Get lost in the stars; why are they twinkling and gleaming?
Led straight by the word, while on reality leaning
Fasting for peace, knowledge, and clarity
Waiting on the promises that He has declared for me
Disgusted by deception, egotism, and vanity
Gaining Godly wisdom while losing my own sanity
God sees my weaknesses, but He knows my strengths
He hears my confessions and knows my intent
But what’s the use sinning if when we repent
We return to the place in which our conscience is bent?
I look into eyes with no soul left inside
Humility abandoned and replaced with selfish pride
By God, we are created, but by flesh we abide?
There’s a fallacy in that. It just doesn’t feel right
