Pulled to and fro,
Back and forth
Round and round
So that I
Like so many others
Can remain

Yet still, strings fall apart
Knots come undone
Thoughts string together
Into one big, tangled mess
And I’m emotionally a mess
Trying to unravel myself
All so that I may remain
Connected to you
You who couldn’t care
